Atos showcase Games support while backing NHS Scotland event

Glasgow, June 2013: Delegates at a major health conference got a step closer to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games this week thanks to one of the Games main supporters - Atos.

International IT services company, Atos, were one of the main sponsors at the NHS Scotland event at Glasgow’s SECC, which focused on the delivery of high quality, sustainable care and support for NHS Scotland in the future.  Delegates were introduced to the Glasgow 2014 Official Games mascot Clyde as part of Atos’ presence at the conference.

More than 1,000 delegates attended the two-day conference, to hear from world-leading experts on collaboration across professional groups and communities to drive forward improved services.

Delegates who visited the Business Technologists at the Atos stand had the opportunity to meet Clyde and have their picture taken with him.

Atos is the Official Supporter of Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games providing essential Games Management Systems and Games Information Systems to support a successful Games.

Linda White, NHS Scotland Event Manager said, “Atos has supported the NHS Scotland Event for a number of years and we welcome their on-going involvement.  Our sponsors are key in allowing the event to take place, and in providing opportunities for people working in and with the NHS in Scotland to engage in our quality healthcare improvement agenda.”

Atos will bring its extensive experience to the Games which will see 6,500 athletes from all 71 Commonwealth nations and territories compete in 17 sports over 11 days, from 23 July – 3 August 2014. The SECC campus will play host to six sports – Gymnastics, Boxing, Judo, Netball, Wrestling and Weightlifting/Powerlifting.
