West Lothian Chamber of Commerce and Mitsubishi Electric are working in partnership to bring closer together industry and schools with the aim of supporting young people in developing skills beneficial to their future development.
The competition has been piloted this year at Armadale Academy with a view to rolling it out to all West Lothian secondary schools in 2015. The challenge for the students was to design an innovative use for a heat pump.
The final of the Challenge took place last week at Mitsubishi Electric in Livingston where the finalists were given a tour of the facility before the teams presented their ideas for the use of a heat pump to the senior management.
The winning team were presented their prizes of an ipad minis by Mitsubishi Electric president, Atushiro Yabu.
