The Chamber offers a service where training can be designed for you to deliver in house.
Training saves you money. There is now evidence for this is in a paper (published in December 2010) entitled ‘The shadow value of employer – provided training’, published by the Centre for Applied Economic studies. The paper shows a causal link between job satisfaction and employer provided training. So, training can be as good as a pay rise.
The research also found that short training interventions were most valued and this aligns with the recent neuroscience studies that show that learning is more effective when delivered in small chunks, with a space between the sessions.
Sheila Fraser Associates designs training for other people to deliver. She has studied learning styles, oratory, neuroscience and cognitive psychology to ensure the training design is friendly to the brain. She explores recent brain research and crystallises this knowledge to create tools and activities that work and key messages stick.
She has experience of designing training for people with a sensory loss i.e. visual impairment or hearing loss.
What Sheila’s clients have said:
"Sheila’s training design has reduced the time that staff are in the training room’
“I was amazed how Sheila backed up the information with scientific facts and demonstrated clearly why we should do it a particular way".
Sheila works alongside staff with the knowledge and expertise teaching them how to cascade their knowledge and skills to others.
